Trudging On

This morning I woke up again before my alarm, but I made sure that I had turned it off when I got out of bed. The funny thing is that Sally's alarm went off for a really long time this morning instead of mine.

In metal class we drew images on copper and then etched the drawings in by dropping the metal in an acid bath. It was pretty fun; I think I am starting to enjoy that class more now.

Between classes everyone split up for lunch. Matt and Ryan went to the library for a nap. There are couches in the basement, but more importantly air-conditioning. Before painting class they told me that people walked by and took pictures of them napping. A lot of people over here take pictures of us and try to be really secretive about it. I guess we really stand out against the sea of Asian faces.

Chinese painting class was interesting today. We painted bamboo stalks and trees. Bamboo is not that exciting to me, but I enjoyed painting it more than I liked painting my name.

On a different note, there is a convenience store under the design building that we have been to so many times today. The same man is always working at the register and he smiles at us every time we come in. He must think we are crazy for coming in so often and buying stuff.

One of the girls on the trip lost her wallet today. Last night was the last time she remembered taking it out to buy something, and that was at a 7 11 store on campus. I feel bad for her, she had a lot of cash in there and other things like her credit card and ATM card. Tin-Man went to the university and got to view the security tapes of her in 7 11, and her leaving, but watching the tapes didn't reveal much. All they know is that she left 7 11 with it in her hand and today it is missing. I hope it ends up being in some random place in her dorm room.
