Long Day

Today has been such a long day for me. I got up at 7 am and apparently did not turn my alarm off. However, I specifically remember turning it off because I woke up before my alarm this morning and was happy that I could wake up that way instead of to an annoying beeping.

So around 7:15 I was sitting at my computer, talking, and someone's alarm went off. No big deal, there are six of us and we all have alarms that go off at different times. This alarm kept going though, and got more annoying as it went. I thought to myself, "Wow their alarm is really really obnoxious, why aren't they turning it off?" Then I people started moving around in their beds to glare at the person whose alarm was on. I looked around and everyone was trying to figure out where it was coming from. At this point I realized it was my alarm! CRAP. It wasn't easy to get to either; I had to climb up in my bed and crawl to the very opposite end to turn it off. I feel pretty bad for waking everyone up, and I am kind of surprised nobody said anything to me later in the day.

Pottery class was frustrating. I was in a bad mood, and the clay was not cooperative. We used the turning wheel today for the first time, and it is a lot harder than I imagined it to be. I got a bowl shaped into something semi-recognizable, and then something would go wrong somewhere.

Later in the day we had glass class, which was a little better. We took the sculptures we created and made a plaster cast of them. After the plaster dried we pulled out the clay and placed pieces of glass in the plaster mold. Next week we should get our glass pieces back, and then we can buff them out. I think that glass class is my favorite so far out of all of the craft classes, I seem to be able to produce stuff I am happy with in there.

I have already posted the picture of the flowers I made, to the right is a beta fish I made recently. I am really excited about this one. I hope the colors turn out well, I'm not really sure what will happen though. We placed some large glass shards into the plaster mold, and I am not sure how everything will melt.
